La más antigua mención de naipes para jugar se encuentra en un
manuscrito Italiano fechado en el año 1299. Y a partir de la segunda mitad del
siglo XVIII se hizo común el uso del
llamado Tarot de Marsella, que contaba con 22 arcanos mayores y cincuenta y
seis menores. Estos últimos, a su vez, se dividían en 4 grupos de 14 cartas,
semejantes a las espadas, los bastos, las copas y los oros de los naipes
españoles, o a los diamantes, los corazones, las picas y los tréboles de la
baraja más usada en occidente.
Los veintidós arcanos mayores
del Tarot, representan un personaje o una escena simbólica, están relacionados
con los 22 ramas del Árbol de la Vida y las 22 letras del alfabeto hebreo, así,
de allí a la numerología abecedario no hay más que un paso cabalístico.

THE TAROT
The earliest mention of cards to play is in an Italian manuscript dated in the year 1299. And from the second half of the eighteenth century it became common to use the so-called Tarot of Marseilles, which had 22 major arcana and fifty six minors. The latter, in turn, were divided into 4 groups of 14 cards, like swords, staves, cups and gold of Spanish playing cards, or diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs in the deck more used in the West.
The twenty-two major arcana of the Tarot, representing a character or a symbolic scene, they are related to the 22 branches of the Tree of Life and the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and, from there to the alphabet numerology no more than a cabalistic step.
